collette ~ oil paint on end page from old book, approx. 3 1/2" x 6"

collette spends part of the year in the forest and part of the year with a theatre troupe in a large city.  she's happy (and creative) either way...

she's painted on a beautifully aged endpaper from an old book, and she has a protective coating of gloss varnish on her.

sophia ~ oil paint and graphite on collaged watercolor paper, slightly larger than 4" x 6"

sophia is quiet, elusive and pensive, as so many of my faces seem to be...

it's not easy to photograph paintings on collaged paper because the sunlight makes the collaged (raised up) areas stand out so much.  in person, depending on the light, the collaged ares are barely visable. 

she's painted on 140# khadi (handmade cotton rag) watercolor paper with deckle edges.  she has a final layer of gloss varnish on her.
