'mrs. delvaux before her departure to the mainland'
oil pastels, soft pastels, gouache and watercolors on nat'l geographic page - 4" x 6"
mrs. delvaux is painted on a page from a national geographic magazine that was sprinkled with citra-solv and allowed to dry. the resulting paper is gorgeous, and really, one feels that it might be better to just leave it alone. alas, mrs. delvaux's hair is all you can see of the wondrous paper.
this portrait was painted quickly, after her bags were packed; a moment of quiet reflection before her departure.
she's been sprayed with a protective fixative.
